Want a career in tech?

We’re bringing hands-on training back in style.

Apprenticeships and vocational training programs have been underappreciated in comparison to four-year degree programs in recent years. We believe this is a huge oversight of employers and job seekers alike. With an increasing number of major tech companies dropping their requirements of a university degree for employment, coupled with an alarming number of graduates struggling to secure employment, we’ve designed a self-paced training program to develop tech talent.

How it works

Each cohort we accept one apprentice from each track from our pool of applicants. During the program, participants will undergo a minimum of 50 hours of self-paced lectures and exercises focused on their respective track. Each week there will be a video conference where all participants will have the opportunity to ask our experienced team questions, and also engage with one another. Upon completion of the program participants will have received multiple certificates and developed skills to prepare them for a career in their respective domains.

What skills do I need to apply?

Most importantly, you need is to be enthused and willing to learn. There are no education or experience requirements. So you don’t have to be a demonstrated math whiz or a techie, as these skills aren’t the best indicators of potential. If you are the sort of individual who doesn’t have the patience and persistence to solve problems however, this program may not be the best fit. You will likely spend a lot of time trying a bunch of different things to get a desired result as you are training, and even more so if you go on to pursue a full-time role. It really comes down to commitment and intellectual flexibility — can you think outside of the box and make adjustments in the way you approach a goal until it is achieved?

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The program is entirely free. This is an informal arrangement between PropheTech and selected apprentices with the primary objective of developing analytical and technical talent. It simply requires self-paced trainings that will be selected to cater to each individual’s proficiencies , and a minimum availability of 10 hours a week for various meetings and project work.

What’s in it for PropheTech?

Promising talent is overlooked far too often. We want to invest in developing individuals from backgrounds underrepresented in tech so they have an opportunity to explore what the field has to offer! What we hope to achieve in this program is a pipeline of competitive analysts and developers who go on to secure full-time jobs. As a plus, top performing participants will have the opportunity to join PropheTech’s pool of talent resources. This means that when our company engages in projects that require extra talent, those participants will be contacted to contribute their skills to the project, and will be compensated for such. You will accumulate real-world experience and earn cash while doing so!

Companies of all sizes leverage data to make personalized experiences for their users, surface business insights, develop AI platforms, and so much more. In this track you’ll learn how to use industry standard tools to query databases, analyze data, produce visualizations, and even use machine learning algorithms to make predictions about future outcomes.

Career Pathways: Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer

Web Development

A lot of the key capabilities of modern internet platforms are the result of crafty web development. This entails programming various aspects of a web application, including what’s known as back-end and front-end resources. In this track you’ll learn how to build end-to-end web applications through the utilization of databases, APIs, and frameworks for user interface design.

Career Pathways: Web Developer, Back-end Engineer, Front-end Engineer.

Cloud Computing

Conceptually, cloud computing is the utilization of virtual computing resources to create an online infrastructure. A cloud services provider will offer their servers and web services so that you can deploy applications for the world to use. In this track, you'll learn how to use these services to dynamically support computing needs without committing to physical servers.

Career Pathways: Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Networking Analyst.
